Gostei de aprender através de pinturas e imaginar como seria se tivéssemos de fazer vários planos diferentes com elas. Também gostei de realizar os vídeos com a minha irmã, foi divertido. Eu aprendi como usar os equipamentos de cinema e como os filmes são feitos. Eu gostei de usar a câmara e o microfone, porque são equipamentos que não uso muito. A minha maior dificuldade foi pensar nas ideias para fazer um filme. Diogo Casimiro

Ao lançarmos o segundo exercício visionamos e analisamos algumas pinturas, refletindo sobre diferentes perspetivas de filmagem da mesma ação. Algumas dessas pinturas incluíram “Mornig Sun” (1952) de Edward Hopper e “La Blanchisseuse” (1733) de Jean-Siméon Chardin.

When launching the second exercise we analyzed some paintings, reflecting on different perspectives of filming the same action. Some of these paintings included Edward Hopper’s “Mornig Sun” (1952) and Jean-Siméon Chardin’s “La Blanchisseuse” (1733).

2º exercício | Plano sequência

Neste exercício foi proposto filmar a mesma acção/situação de 2 maneiras diferentes: a primeira em plano sequência, a outra dividindo o mesmo plano em 3/4 planos formando a mesma ação.

For this exercise it was proposed to film the same action/situation in 2 different ways: the first being a long take, the second dividing the same take into 3/4 takes forming the same action.

Visionamos alguns excertos para análise e discussão, que os ajudaram no desenvolvimento deste segundo exercício de captação de plano longo, nomeadamente um excerto da curta metragem “SuperUnit” (2014) de Teresa Czepiec.

We analyzed and discussed some film excerpts, which helped the students in the development of this second long take exercise. One of the film excerpts we saw belongs to the movie « SuperUnit » (2014) by Teresa Czepiec.

Exercício 2

O exercício 2 foi trabalhado a partir de pinturas. Cada aluno escolheu uma e falou sobre ela: o que se via? o que sentia? o que imaginava a partir dela. Depois, em casa, filmaram primeiro, um plano sequência, e depois as mesmas personagens, a mesma acção, no mesmo lugar, em vários planos.

The Exercise 2 was worked from paintings. Each student chose one and spoke about it: what was seen? what did you feel? what I imagined from it? Then, at home, they filmed a sequence shot first, and then the same characters, the same action, in the same place, on several planes.

Uma rapariga está sentada na cama a olhar para o infinito pela janela. O quarto está iluminado pelo sol. Não vemos o que ela vê, mas ela também não parece estar a olhar para nada: está dentro de si, talvez a lembrar-se de alguma coisa. (Clara)

A girl is sitting on the bed looking out of the window at infinity. The room is lit by the sun. We don’t see what she sees, but she also doesn’t seem to be looking at anything: she is inside herself, perhaps remembering something. (Clear)

Sobre a mesa estão umas frutas, uma garrafa de água, pão. Está tudo muito arrumado. Dá a sensação de calma, mas ao lado pode estar a acontecer uma discussão. (Madalena)

Sobre excerto de El sur (Erice)

Ela cresce na estrada, dá a sensação que cresceu sempre a fazer o mesmo: a andar de bicicleta por aqueles caminhos.

Gostei das linhas brancas nas árvores, do cão que cresceu e da estrada coberta de folhas. Se tivesse mudado apenas a atriz e a personagem aparecesse mais velha sem mais nada ter mudado era estranho, pois como é que o tempo podia ter passado sem nada ter mudado?

Ouvimos as vozes deles a dizerem frases e uma música muito intensa. Não ouvimos os sons do que vemos. As coisas acontecem umas a seguir às outras, mas o tempo parece que não é linear. A câmara está sempre atrás deles, e eles andam às voltas. Parece que acompanhamos tudo, mas não é tudo. E depois tudo se torna mais rápido, os planos tornam-se muito curtos, há uma aceleração, há muitas coisas a acontecer, avanços e recuos. E depois a música pára, eles param, e apesar de ainda se sentir uma tensão, sente-se que se passou para outro momento, porque há um grande contraste, no som e na imagem, com tudo o que assistimos antes: a câmara está parada, eles estão parados, ouvimos o som da rua e deles a falarem com o homem da bomba de gasolina.

We heard their voices saying phrases and very intense music. We don’t hear the sounds of what we see. Things happen one after the other, but time seems to be non-linear. The camera is always behind them, and they go around. It seems that we follow everything, but it is not everything. And then everything becomes faster, the plans become very short, there is an acceleration, there are many things happening, advances and retreats. And then the music stops, they stop, and although you still feel a tension, you feel that it has passed to another moment, because there is a great contrast, in the sound and in the image, with everything we have seen before: the camera stopped, they are stopped, we hear the sound of the street and of them talking to the man at the gas pump.

Exercice 2. Lycée G. Milli

Malgré les longs mois fermés dans la maison, en raison de la situation connue, voici une lueur de lumière.

Nous, filles et garçons du Lycée des Sciences Humaines, aux prises avec le deuxième exercice. Deux petits courts, comme demandé, l’un enplan séquence et l’autre avec les coupes de montage. La même histoire, les mêmes situations. Le tout condensé en seulement deux jours de travail, nous aurions aimé faire mieux, mais malheureusement on nous a refusé toute chance en raison des diverses fermetures.

Dans les réunions on-line, cependant, l’histoire s’est pratiquement écrite par elle-même, nous voulions souligner l’attente d’un amour presque interdit, sur nos peurs d’adolescents, sur le besoin d’être compris, de trouver un espace de partage.

Filmer en deux après-midi n’a pas été facile, nous ne pouvions même pas être tous présents car il y avait des limites à l’espace disponible, mais nous avons travaillé avec le cœur, dirigé par Marco, Dimitri et Domenico, toujours prêt à nous donner des conseils utiles. Nous sommes convaincus que nous pourrons nous engager encore plus sur le court métrage final, en espérant que l’urgence Covid nous permettra de travailler en paix et tous ensemble.

No que diz respeito ao tema “o tempo no cinema” para mim representa as estratégias para captar o que se quer, no tempo que se quer, tempo meteorológico ou tempo físico, para além de que, o tempo num filme pode mudar ou reforçar todo o sentido do filme, permitindo criar sentimentos de alegria, de tensão, de tristeza, ou de medo. En ce qui concerne le thème « le temps au cinéma », cela représente pour moi les stratégies pour capter ce que l’on souhaite, dans le temps que l’on souhaite – temps météorologique ou temps physique – outre que le temps dans un film peut modifier ou renforcer tout le sens du film, permettant de créer des sentiments de joie, de tension, de tristesse ou de peur. No que diz respeito aos exercícios que filmámos, talvez o último tenha sido o que melhor mostrou a passagem do tempo, e descobri que a posição da câmara é fulcral para mostrar tanto as sensações visuais como a passagem do tempo. O clube de cinema tem-nos proporcionado enorme aprendizagem, pois ao início era tudo uma incógnita, hoje em dia penso que todo o grupo já aprendeu imensas coisas, e a manusear determinados objetos (câmara, gravador…) e especialmente a trabalhar em equipa. Par rapport aux exercices que nous avons filmé, peut-être est-ce le dernier qui a le mieux montré le passage du temps et qui m’a fait découvrir que la position de la caméra est primordiale pour montrer aussi bien les sensations visuelles que le passage du temps. Le club de cinéma nous a offert un apprentissage immense, tout, au début, était une inconnue et aujourd’hui je pense que tout le groupe a déjà appris énormément de choses, et aussi à manipuler des instruments spécifiques (caméra, magnétophone…) et tout spécialement à travailler en équipe.
