Voici le travail de Manon :

J’ai choisi deux moments du montage de Berlin, le premier moment est de 11min à 11min 40 sec. Le deuxième moment est de 12 min à 12 min 35 sec

De 11min à 11min 40 sec :

Dans cet extrait, j’observe une fille déchirant une grande feuille.

Elle entoure sa main de la tige afin de la couper cela m’a fait penser à un serpent qui s’enlace autour de toi. Quand la tige est autour de sa main ça lui coupe la circulation du sang ce qui évoque la « souffrance ».

Déchirer une feuille est désagréable au touché comme le bruit désagréable qui est là pour renforcer cette image « crispante ».

Cela me provoque un sentiment d’injustice car la feuille ne peut pas « se défendre ».

C’est le bruit désagréable de la feuille déchirée qui fait penser à ce sentiment.

Les humains ne se rendent pas compte qu’on détruit la nature en déchirant des feuilles, coupant les arbres, cela détériore la nature.

De 12 min à 12 min 35 sec :

Pendant cet extrait, j’observe un doigt qui va aller toucher 3 textures naturelles différentes à la suite : un cactus, de la pierre et une plante grasse. J’ai trouvé cela intéressant car cela ne provoque pas le même effet en les touchant.

D’abord la plante grasse, qui a l’air douce grâce à ses « poils », elle a une sorte de duvet, à première vue elle donne envie de la toucher. L‘enfant nous le confirme car sa main reste sur la plante un long moment cela signifie que la texture est agréable et douce, il découvre la plante.

Puis le cactus, quand on le regarde on n’a pas envie de s’en approcher à cause ses épines et quand le doigt le touche cela confirme nos pressentiments car l’enfant dit « AIE » et il retire à l’instant même son doigt.

Enfin, la pierre qui a un aspect lisse, l’enfant passes son doigt sur la longueur de la pierre puis sur la largeur. Cela me donne l’impression qu’il découvre cette matière rocailleuse et lisse.

Além disso havia planos que tendo sido filmados para um sentido condiziam melhor com outro, e outros que na rodagem nos tinham parecido óbvios e que depois projectados não pareciam representar nenhum sentido.

We started by mounting the diferentes shots by filming order, but there was shots that didn’t connect because the light was way more different in between. Besides that, there was shots that having been filmed from one direction were better suited to another, and others that in the shooting had seemed obvious to us and then projected did not seem to make any sense.

Por isso acabámos por decidir não seguir a ordem do cadáver esquisito. Fizemos uma montagem com alguns dos planos da visão e da audição e uma outra com os planos do tacto e do olfacto. Esta foi totalmente inspirada em Bouquet de Lowder. Foi um momento muito interessante na montagem, estar a fazer cortes frame a frame – que é muito trabalhoso – e depois descobrir o resultado incrível. (André e Rafael)

So eventually we decide not to follow the order of the exquisite corpse. We made a editing with some of the vision and hearing shots and another with the touch and smell shots. This one was totally inspired by Bouquet by Lowder. It was a very interesting moment of editing, to be making frame-by-frame cuts – which is very laborious – and then realize the incredible result. Cada grupo filmou 3/5 planos e depois, partindo só do último plano de imagem ou ouvindo apenas o último plano de som, os grupos trocavam de sentido. Na sessão seguinte, voltámos ao bairro para filmar o olfacto e o tacto.

We chose a neighborhood near the school that nobody knew very well, the idea was this: to be a place to discover. We divide ourselves into groups and by each group a sense: vision and hearing. Each group filmed 3/5 shots and then, starting only from the last shot when filming the sense of vision, or listening only to the last plane when the sense of hearing, the groups exchanged the senses. The next session, we went back to the neighborhood to film smell and touch.

To film the sense of touch, we blindfolded Rita, who was taking several objects out of a hat: « I took a long time with each thing because I was really feeling and seeing if I could perceive what it was through touch. »

Para filmar o sentido do paladar vendámos o Diogo e a Rita ia-lhe dando coisas à boca: umas salgadas, umas ácidas, umas doces: “ Algumas coisas eu nunca tinha comido e sabiam-me mal, outras eu gosto muito como chocolate.”

To film the sense of taste we blindfolded Diogo, and Rita was giving him things in his mouth: some salty, some sour, some sweet: « Some things I had never eaten and they tasted bad, others I really like such as chocolate. »

Filmámos só um take de cada plano porque queríamos filmar as reações espontâneas.

We shot only one take of each because we wanted to film the spontaneous reactions.

 

O sentido da visão filmámos numa manhã, fomos para um lugar descampado ao pé da escola. Cada um filmava dois planos e depois mostrava o último à próxima pessoa que ia filmar. Na montagem guardámos a ordem dos planos, só cortamos o tempo.

The sense of vision we filmed one morning, we went to an open place near the school. Each one filmed two shots and then showed the last to the next person who was going to shoot. In the film editing we kept the order of the plans, we just cut the time.
